Linda K. Eyerman

Portland Attorney Linda Eyerman

Linda Eyerman obtained her law degree from the University of Oregon School of Law in 1976 and began her practice at the Metropolitan Public Defender in Portland.  Before the end of her five year stint there, she had tried scores of jury trials, and her aptitude for trial work caused her to be put in charge of office-wide training for lawyers handling both misdemeanor and felony cases.

She joined Bill Gaylord in private practice in 1982 and enjoyed immediate success in a variety of general litigation and employment law cases, including cases on behalf of Portland’s first female police chief and one of its first female firefighters.  Since the early 1990s, she has primarily represented people injured by defective products, medical malpractice, and other causes of wrongful death or catastrophic injury.  She gained national recognition for her representation of approximately 90 women injured by silicone breast implants.  Among recent cases, she is especially proud of her work for a young girl who lost her right arm in a washing machine accident, where the settlement included an agreement by the washing machine maker to  change the design of the machine to correct the defect and prevent future injuries.  She is recognized in "The Best Lawyers in America" in the area of personal injury litigation.

Throughout her career, Linda has been an active volunteer in a variety of professional service organizations. She recently completed a four-year term on the Board of Governors of the Oregon State Bar (OSB), and chairs the OSB Access to Justice Committee. She is a past chair of the OSB Products Liability Section. She served on the Board of Governors of the Oregon Trial Lawyers Association for nine years and held every office, including President in 1999-2000. In 2004, the Oregon Trial Lawyers voted to give her their Distinguished Trial Lawyer award. She is also a member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, Trial Lawyers for Public Justice, the Multnomah Bar Association, and serves on the advisory committee of the Campaign for Equal Justice.
